Multi-skilled seasonal staff required for the 2020 season
About The Company
The place – an unconventional and eco-friendly campsite in the south of Ardèche, over 12 hectares with around 30 lodgings, communal areas (garden, studio, barbecue), shop, restaurant, large swimming pool and nature activities.
The people – owners Agnès and Frédéric and a team of six staff in season which includes their son Romain who works at the campsite all year around.
The work – 1000 and 1 visits in the season: many French clients and around a quarter from overseas, who come for the simple pleasures of a holiday in the heart of quiet countryside and open space. No evening discos or kids’ club, but an evening of star-gazing, guided walks, craft workshops, a spot of gardening…
Flexible Role
There are no specified roles; everyone carries out a mix of tasks for variation. We are seeking to fill several vacancies, each of which includes some of the following tasks:
- Welcoming clients and sale of products in campsite shop
- Cleaning the washrooms and rental propertie
- Bar and snacks service
A temporary (CDD) contract is based on a 35-hour week, with one day off per week. Part-time work optional. Pre-season training optional. We are recruiting for several vacancies, available between mid-March and end September, for periods ranging from 7 weeks to several months.
Skills Required
For each of the vacancies, you need to be organised, careful when following procedures and have a good attention to detail.
You like:
- doing different tasks and are as happy cleaning and selling as you are serving in the bar and working in reception
- contact with others – clients, campsite managers, and other seasonal workers.
You are equally able to work on your own without getting bored and without looking at your mobile phone too often!
English (and French) and a good fitness level are a “plus”. Ability to ride a bike is also useful – staff get around the campsite by bike or caddy car.
No previous experience required as long as you are motivated to work with us, including weekends in the high season. You are interested in the different type of holiday our campsite offers and are happy to convey our values to clients so that they, in turn, adopt our ecological and social values during their stay. You are keen to work for a small family business.
NB: Flexible working takes a little getting used to, so don’t hesitate to ask us questions – you’ll learn faster. Throughout your time working at the campsite, we encourage you to ask us if you’re not sure about something, rather than acting on your own initiative. We have 20 years of experience to share!
About Our Philosophy
Our goal, to offer a positive experience at Domaine de Briange: Come and live in nature!
Every task, whether cleaning a chalet, welcoming a foreign client, or serving a quiche in the afternoon, is just as important as another to us. Because this is also true for our clients, who appreciate everything we do for them in equal measure. And the overall aim for all the team is that our clients enjoy their stay at Domaine de Briange.
At our campsite, there is relatively little stress on the team. We don’t have an exhausting mass arrivals day on a Saturday as our clients can – and do – arrive any day of the week. Also, clients who choose our campsite do so for its calm, natural environment and open space – so there are no impatient or extravagant demands. The only imperative to ensure that we meet their expectations is that everything is ready and correctly prepared according to schedule so that we are available and smiling when they arrive.
You won’t be asked to work extra hours as we want you to have time to enjoy the pool, to visit the area and have some downtime. 35 hours a week is already plenty if you are going to have time to do that. It also allows you to stay 100% concentrated during your work hours.
If you don’t live within travelling distance of the campsite, we will need to look together at possible solutions as it can be complicated to find accommodation in tourist areas.
