Our region is well known for its outdoor activities. The descent of the Ardèche Gorges by canoe is the best exemple – a fun, sporty way to discover the gorges from the water. The limestone landscape also encloses numerous cavity chambers, well known to cavers.
Outdoor activities, on your own or with our great partners
The area is popular with walkers and cyclists all year round. You might, for example, want to walk from the campsite to the top of the Dent de Rez – the highest point in south Ardèche at 719m. Apparently on a clear day you can see the sea! And to be sure to see water, and even to swim, we advise you to go to the Ardèche gorges. A fairly easy hike in a grandiose landscape. On site, we can advise you and lend you a map for your trip.
For the more adventurous, you can also opt for canyoning, climbing or caving. Our limestone soil is a real “gruyère” which offers numerous underground routes. The Chauvet cave was discovered by potholers. If it is impossible to visit the real one, you can always go and see its replica.
Finally, you could go on a micro-adventure. Unusual experiences accessible to all: underground bivouac, gentle survival, roaming with a donkey or a giant 180m abseiling. You’ll definitely have something to talk about after your holiday. You can also set up a hammock on your pitch and enjoy a quiet and relaxing time under an oak tree on the campsite. After all, isn’t this also a nature activity?
For all of these outdoor activities, we recommend a handful of associates who, like us, pride themselves on a warm welcome and valuable advice.
